Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our office. The ideal candidate will play an important role in managing client and vendor accounts. This position requires strong communication skills and attention to detail. Backup coverage for Payroll Manager as needed.

Duties

Data entry of all invoices payable and receivable while coding to specific jobs.

Check printing and electronic payments.

Reconcile and pay credit card statements.

Review job contracts for billing details.

Track outstanding invoices, and follow up with client(s).

Create new G/L accounts as needed.

Coordinate with external accountants on ledger balances, business tax payments, etc.

Provide job cost summaries, balance sheets, P&L statements as needed.

Administration of 401K plan.

Coordinate payment of insurance policies with payroll deductions.

Bank reconciliations.

Shared Duties Include

Answer phone.

Maintain office supply inventory.

Change toner, add paper to printer and copier.

Minor trouble shooting of office equipment issues.

Maintain adequate funds in postage meter.

Review group and business policies and annual renewals with office staff and insurance agent.

Aid employees with benefit forms needed and enrolling/terminating coverage.

Knowledge of payroll taxes.

Act as liaison between CEO and office staff and third-party advisors such as CPA's, accountants, lawyers, bank, insurance, etc.

Experience

10+ years managing accounts.

Microsoft Office products.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with office staff, clients, vendors, and other third-party advisors.
