Position Summary:

We are hiring an Entry-Level Bookkeeper and Tax Preparer to assist with organizing financial records, maintaining accurate books, and preparing basic income tax returns. This is a hands-on role with room to grow in skills and responsibility. You will receive direct training from experienced professionals and gain real-world experience in both bookkeeping and tax filing.

Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping:

Record and categorize financial transactions using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)

Reconcile bank and credit card statements

Assist with maintaining general ledgers and monthly reports

Organize and scan client receipts, invoices, and financial documents

Help prepare basic financial statements

Tax Preparation:

Assist in preparing individual and small business tax returns (Form 1040, Schedule C, etc.)

Collect and organize client tax documents (W-2s, 1099s, etc.)

Use tax software under supervision to input data and complete returns

Learn current tax laws and apply them accurately

Maintain confidentiality and accuracy throughout the tax preparation process

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Interest in accounting, bookkeeping, or tax preparation

Willingness to learn and follow instructions

Basic computer skills; familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets

Strong attention to detail and organization

Good written and verbal communication skills

Reliable, responsible, and professional

(Preferred but not required): Some coursework or experience in accounting, finance, or tax
