The Assistant Plant Manager role provides day-to-day coaching and guidance on the production floor, exercising strong leadership in the manufacturing process, while directing safe work practices. This role reports to the Plant Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain the right people in the right seats within the department team to achieve ownership and accountability, providing day-to-day coaching and guidance to department team members to develop them to their fullest potential. Manage the production floor and production supervisors under the direction of the Plant Manager. Work to improve production control, standard operating procedure, safety, quality control and performance management. Plan, schedule, and coordinate production to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver products in a timely manner. Exercise strong leadership to focus plant efforts on priorities and continuous improvements in the manufacturing process. Work with quality control, supervisors and operators to reduce product that is poor quality and/or does not meet the required specifications. Complete electric work as per job requirements and training under NFPA 70E electrical and arch flash requirements. Be a safety role model and adhere to all safety standards. Strive for zero injuries Implement improved production tracking systems, monitor daily progress and manage the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), providing regular reports to the Plant Manager. Work with the Plant Manager to ensure effective team member relations and provide coaching and development for team members following the guidelines of our company Core Values Cascade objectives and operational performance to plant team members. Drive continuous improvement in daily thinking and operational activities, delivering consistent results.

Drive Safety (EHS) and be a safety role mode, including Investigating all accidents, determining the root cause, and taking necessary measures to ensure the accident cannot happen again; improving processes and safety training for all team members; striving for zero accidents; participating in safety audits and meetings; and ensuring regulatory compliance (labor, environmental, transportation, OSHA, etc.). Ensure effective team member relations, monitoring team member performance, providing coaching, and administering discipline with tact and respect while being clear about expectations in accordance with Prinscos values. Work with sales leadership to facilitate planning and production requirements. Support the supply chain team on shared tooling, raw materials and finished goods inventory management. Provide customer interaction in support of sales team, customer service and dispatch. Interface with Development Engineering and Sales/Marketing to coordinate the production process for the introduction of new products. Focus on cross-training, continuous learning

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree preferred and a minimum of ten years of production supervision experience required. Strong influencing skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization. In-depth experience with quality processes, inventory management, and continuous improvement methodologies. Experienced in or the ability to learn electrical knowledge for this job required under NFPA 70E electrical standard. Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to analyze data/facts/drawings to support valid conclusions and to solve practical problems or deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Proficient with MS Office productsand MS D365. Honest and fiscally responsible. Visibility on the production floor is a minimum of 50% of the workday. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and use hands or reaching with hands/arms occasionally. Standing, walking, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling for over 2/3 of the workday. Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate colors. Ability to work in a production environment that is not temperature controlled and occasionally in varying outdoor weather conditions. Ability to work in a loud noise environment.
