This full-time, exempt position reports to the Chief Commercial Officer. The Industry and Sales Manager for Valve Closure Products will manage and grow Powell's valve closure business.

Industry Manager Responsibilities Valve Closure Products

External and internal champion/leader for valve closure products. First among equals leading sales growth for the valve closure business:

Product and industry knowledge leader: Deep knowledge of Powell products and the end uses, competitors, current and potential customers, existing and emerging industry dynamics and trends in the market.

Visible as the "face of Powell's valve closure products business". Attend key conferences, trade shows, industry conferences, etc.

Grow and maintain relationships with key decision makers and leadership at current and potential customer accounts.

Manage our Valve Closure Manufacturers' Representative / Distributor Group:

Responsibilities include day-to-day management and oversight of rep activities, annual agreement administration, valve closure product training, forecasting monthly sales for the manufacturer rep segment, and annual performance reviews of manufacturer rep performance.

Provide regular input and recommendations to add, eliminate, increase or decrease manufacturers' rep / distributor group territory responsibilities to optimize valve closure business sales and profit performance.

Provide internal alignment and guidance for valve closure products:

Day to day guidance to the Sales Team on valve closure sales to maximize gross profit capture.

Lead regular cross functional meetings with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Production, etc. to review recent sales, quotes, forecasts, supply, strategies and other issues.

Coach, mentor, teach, and align Sales Team on industry and customer fundamentals & dynamics. Provide regular valve closure market updates to the team and assist in training new employees.

Ensure alignment with other internal department activities and priorities on valve closure products and projects.

Provide guidance to Marketing on valve closure product positioning, promotion and communication activities.

Sales Responsibilities - Valve Closure Products

Manage existing direct customer accounts (not assigned to manufacturers' representatives / distributors).

Develop new customer accounts (not assigned to manufacturers' representatives / distributors).
