Minimum Education

High School Diploma or GED

Bachelors degree in a Human Services field preferred

Required License

LCDC or LCDC Intern license (required)

Experience

12 months of experience preferred

Experience in substance abuse counseling strongly preferred

Bilingual preferred

Job Description

Plainview Serenity Center is seeking qualified Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LCDC) and LCDC Interns to work with adult males and females in residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment settings.

Primary duties include:

Providing alcohol and drug counseling services

Working with clients in residential and outpatient programs

Maintaining professional relationships with clients and referral sources

Coordinating with local judges, probation departments, law enforcement agencies, TDCJ, and community organizations

Maintaining accurate documentation and records

Following all state and agency regulations and policies

Hiring Requirements

Ability to maintain positive interpersonal and professional relationships

Must pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check

Strong communication and organizational skills
