Summary

The Accounting Associate II will help manage the fiscal operations of the agency to ensure the proper safeguarding of agency assets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential job duties/responsibilities of the Accounting Associate II include, but are not limited to the following:

Performs general accounting.

Prepare source documents to enter journal entries and accounts receivable into computer.

Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports for all programs.

Backup to reconcile the liability accounts monthly.

Reconcile the bank account statement for assigned bank accounts.

Backup for all accounts payable.

Asset Manager for agency.

Backup for Assistant Finance Director and Payroll.

Adhere to Piedmont Community Actions, Inc. and Head Starts policies, procedures and guidelines.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelors degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university in accounting or equivalent; or five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; CPA preferable

Language Skills -Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills -Ability to use or demonstrate advanced mathematical skills

Reasoning Ability- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Computer Skills- To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent knowledge of the DBA system or database software and basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office application like word processing, PowerPoint, excel and outlook;
