About Us: Pickens Contracting, Inc. formally known as Pickens Roofing & Sheet Metal and Pickens Roofing has been serving the roofing needs of the public throughout the upstate of South Carolina as well as North Carolina and Georgia since 1904. We are looking for a full time Administrative Assistant to join our team at our Greer location. Job Summary: The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of clerical and administrative tasks supporting several departments. You will be the first point of contact when guest arrives, and customer service is essential in this role. Duties/Responsibilities: Key employee to answer, transfer and screen incoming business calls Welcomes and directs visitors and clients. Maintains filing systems as assigned. Retrieves information as requested from records, email, minutes, and other related documents; prepares written summaries of data when needed. Responds to and resolves administrative inquiries and questions. Prepares agendas and schedules for meetings. Maintains office supplies and coordinates maintenance of office equipment. Works alongside of the Office Manager, Human Resources, and Administration team for daily tasks Informs Production Managers of any incoming shipments to job sites Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing. Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast pace environment Ability to work independently. Education and Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service and administrative roles Must be able to pass a drug and background screening Bilingual preferred but not required Roofing or Construction Industry experience is preferred Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
