NY1585991 Construction Estimator needed with PHJ Holdings in Johnstown, NY.

The company is seeking a full-time construction estimator. This position would work directly with management and operating supervisors to develop accurate and competitive bids and to support the execution of the project from the pre-construction phase to acceptance of bid. This position would also be involved in subcontract coordination, and cost analysis. The company participates in commercial, industrial, municipal and sitework construction projects.

Core Responsibilities -Prepare detailed accurate construction cost estimates. -Read blueprints and specifications and provide accurate takeoffs. -Solicit and evaluate needed subcontractor bids. -Price company related costs in a project, including labor, materials, and equipment. -Prepare all proposal documents, including scope narratives, -Support to bid clarifications and any contract negotiations upon obtaining bid. -Assist with cost tracking and change order process for each project. -Develop and maintain an estimating template and a database of historical costs.

Candidate Background and Requirements -Experience in estimating site, civil and commercial construction projects. -Read blueprints and understand related specifications. -An adequate understanding of the components of a construction project such as excavation, utilities, concrete, grading, and site logistics. -Effective communication skills to collaborate with vendors, subcontractors, and management. -Organized and deadline driven. -Required field knowledge. -Must be hands-on, including an understanding of construction production and jobsite operations. -Experience estimating multi-scope projects, including sitework, structural concrete, drainage, utilities, and specialty construction.

Software Proficiencies -Excel (required). -Bluebeam/PlanSwift takeoff (preferred but would train). -Construction management systems, such as Procore (preferred but would train).

Annual Compensation -Negotiable -Entry Level: $55-$70k -Experienced: $75-$95k -Senior: $95-$120k
