Responsibilities include performing moderately complex systems support work; providing customer support for PBWDB information technology systems. The Network Support Specialist works under the daily supervision of the Chief Technology Officer. The Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer have

oversight responsibility of PBWDBs information technology staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor or

Associates degree with major coursework in computer science, management information systems, or related field is preferred. Education and experience may be substituted for one another.

Minimum of two years experience in LAN/WAN, personal computer, server support.

Current certifications in

A+, Network+, MCSA, CCNET or CCNA preferred.

Examples of Work Performed

Install, configure, upgrade, maintain, and troubleshoot PC, server, network hardware and software systems.

Provide end-user support for a wide range of technical issues, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, software installations, customizations, hardware failures, printers, and peripherals. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed.

Support and troubleshoot onsite and offsite backup systems, processes, and software.

Diagnose and resolve issues with operating systems such as Windows Server 2008/2012/2019/2022, Windows 10, and Linux.

Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity issues, including wired and wireless networking problems.

Provide support for Cisco networking equipment including routers, switches, and VLAN configurations.

Troubleshoot and support VoIP telephone systems.

Set up and manage Active Directory accounts, Office 365 email, Microsoft Office applications, and internal agency software.

Administer and support core infrastructure services including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, and TCP/IP networking.

Deploy operating systems and applications using SCCM, and Ninja RMM, including imaging and software distribution.

Assist the Chief Technology Officer in monitoring and maintaining cybersecurity posture, including:

Create and maintain documentation for network architecture, processes, policies, and procedures. Develop knowledge base articles for internal use.

Serve as a backup to the Chief Technology Officer when needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of the practices, principles, and techniques of computer operation, of information systems, of computer software and hardware, of information security policies and procedures, and of local and wide area networks.

Knowledge of PC/Server imaging, patching, active directory, and group policy.

Knowledge of Citrix, Hyper-V virtualization and AWS/Azure cloud platform

Experience in managing office 365 platform

Experience in configuring and managing Cisco/HP routers, Switches and VLANs

Skill in the use and support of personal computers, in the use of applicable programs and systems, and in troubleshooting information systems.

Ability to recognize, analyze the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problem specific network problems to resolve problems.

Knowledge of Microsoft software products.

Ability to manage a dynamic task list and shifting priorities.

Ability to learn changing IT technologies and adapt quickly to new technologies.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to work well with others and as a team member.

Must possess good organizational and time management skills.

Certificates and Licenses Required

Position requires out of region travel for activities and/or meetings with state and/or other agencies.
