POSITION POSTING: Finance Assistant The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office has an opening for a part time Finance Assistant. This position is scheduled for 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule. It is non-exempt and unclassified. The wage rate is $23.36 per hour. Job includes: Assisting the Director of Finance with processing of financial and budgetary statements, purchase orders, vouchers, invoices and checks;

Balances monthly bank statements & financial reports;

Files documents and maintains office files;

Performs general clerical tasks such as data entry, makes copies, inventories and orders supplies;

Assists in assembling information for grant submissions & reimbursement requests;

Process incoming and outgoing mail;

Processes new hire employment packets;

Assists and acts as back-up Director of Finance for payroll processing. Selected candidates must have: Knowledge of office practices & procedures;

Knowledge of public relations & ability to answer routine inquiries from the public

Skill in operation of computers/software and adding machines;

Ability to deal with problems involving multiple variables, basic math operations (add, subtract, multiply & divide, calculate fractions, decimals and percentages;

Ability to work independently and make decisions, ability to keep accurate and timely records and ability to demonstrate effective organizational skills.
