Job Duties Provide physical therapy treatment programs which may include, but are not limited to:

o Evaluations (initial, re-evaluations, and discharge)

o Therapeutic exercise.

o Exercise prescription.

o Application of modalities.

o Home program instruction to patients and family members, and the patient and family. Education in the use of assistive devices and functional activities.

Wound care and suture removal.
Assist in routine maintenance of the department.
Understand and adhere to OSHA requirements for workplace safety to protect against

o Potential exposure to bodily fluids.

o Workplace injuries.
Document daily evaluations and progress notes to meet the department's standards of quality, which include specification of treatment goals, modification of treatment plan to achieve stated goals, and discharge planning.
Practice within the APTA code of ethics.
Satisfy the needs of patients through flexible availability by telephone and in the appointment schedule.
Participate in professional growth through publications and continuing education courses; provide and attend staff in-services.
Supervise PTAs, aides, and students, including delegation of responsibilities as directed by the department's standards and Minnesota practice statutes.
Manage time well; maintain an on-time appointment schedule.
Assist in routine maintenance of the department.
Maintain communication through attendance at department and staff meetings.
Maintain communication with referring providers (M.D.s, P.A.s, and N.P.s) regarding patient's status and physical therapy needs.
Assume responsibility for all direct and indirect P.T. services provided to his/her assigned patients.
Complete tasks required for the daily operation of the Clinic, including supervision of staff; training and orientation of new personnel; identification of equipment and supply needs; setting and achieving Clinic and individual goals and objectives.
Participate in new program development; marketing/promoting the Clinic within the community; plan and implement clinical in-services and community educational seminars; interdisciplinary research - review and updating of clinical programs, protocols, etc.
Monitor safety equipment; report malfunctioning equipment through appropriate channels for prompt repair.

Minimum Education Required
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
License to practice physical therapy in the state of the facility.
