Job Overview:

The Dairy/Frozen Food Department Leader at Northland is a key management role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dairy and frozen food departments while ensuring exceptional customer service, sales growth, and operational excellence. This leader will be responsible for achieving sales and profit goals, maintaining quality assurance standards, ensuring safety compliance, and fostering a positive and productive team environment. The Dairy/Frozen Food Department Leader will empower associates, develop strategies to achieve business goals, and ensure an exceptional shopping experience for all customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service Excellence:

Deliver outstanding customer service by providing an exceptional shopping experience.

Create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages customer return and promotes customer satisfaction.

Address customer inquiries, make product recommendations, and inform customers about dairy and frozen food specials.

Offer product samples to enhance the customer shopping experience.

Sales & Profit Goals:
Achieve and exceed department sales and profit targets.

Implement business strategies, sales promotions, and marketing plans in collaboration with store management.

Monitor and adjust department operations to maximize profitability.

Team Leadership & Development:
Empower department associates by setting clear performance goals and fostering teamwork to achieve objectives.

Supervise, coach, and motivate associates to provide exceptional customer service and maintain high standards of performance.

Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance associate growth and development.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Maintain high standards of product quality and freshness for all dairy and frozen food items.

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, company guidelines, and food safety regulations.

Maintain accurate temperature logs for all coolers and cases to ensure product safety.

Operational Efficiency:
Oversee daily operations, ensuring inventory management, stock levels, and product displays are maintained to company standards.

Plan and organize the inventory process, including stocking and rotation of products.

Manage the department's promotional plan, including pricing, signage, and shelf tags for weekly and seasonal promotions.

Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly price changes and coordinate with store management on pricing adjustments.

Safety & Cleanliness:
Establish and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment for both customers and associates.

Adhere to all safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions and enforcing corrective actions to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Administrative Responsibilities:
Assist store management in preparing budgets, expense controls, and profit/loss reviews for the department.

Submit seasonal critiques and reports to the sales and merchandising supervisor.

Manage schedules, employee performance, and ensure staffing levels are adequate for department needs.
