**Farm Manager

Position Summary**

The Farm Manager leads the daily operations at NECIC's Urban Farm. This includes crop production, seasonal planning, equipment care, and community programming. The goal is to keep the farm running smoothly while supporting NECIC's mission to improve life and opportunity in Mansfield's North End.

**Key Responsibilities

Crop & Field Management**

Oversee all stages of growing: soil prep, planting, irrigation, harvesting, and composting.

Keep up with crop rotation, post-harvest handling, and crop health.

Maintain GAP compliance records.

Supervise and work respectfully with volunteers, youth, restored citizens, and incarcerated individuals.

Infrastructure & Equipment

Maintain tunnels, fencing, compost systems, and equipment.

Operate and maintain farm vehicles and tools (tractor, mower, truck, etc.).

Track supplies, tools, and fuel levels.

Coordination & Logistics

Support sales and donation deliveries.

Help with Farmers Market setup/teardown (June--Sept, Thursdays 4--7 PM).

Assist with farm tours, classes, and community events.

Coordinate schedules for incarcerated participants and supply orders for them.

Training & Development

Take part in trainings with Central State University.

Grow professional skills through ongoing assignments and opportunities.

Represent NECIC at events and conferences.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong administrative and organizational skills (Microsoft Office, Excel).

Knowledge of Mansfield's North End community and passion for community development.

Experience with project management and ABCD (Asset-Based Community Development).

Degree in agriculture, business, or equivalent experience.

Valid driver's license and insurance required.

Work Environment & Schedule

Outdoor, physically active role in all weather conditions.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and work on uneven ground.

Operate farm equipment and vehicles.

Full-time, Monday--Friday, 8:00 AM--4:30 PM, with flexibility for early mornings, evenings, or weekends during peak seasons.

Flex time may balance longer workdays during busy times with lighter schedules in the off-season.
