Requirements:

At least 2 years' experience working in a mushroom packing facility or at 1 year experience in a supervisory role.

Bilingual in English and Spanish

Job Description: (Provide in full detail what the employee's daily tasks are)

Arrive at work a half hour before production begins. Production start time will be determined the day before.

Follow food safety and GMP Practices

Inspect work areas for any operational issues and report to Production Supervisors, QA, and/or maintenance.

Implement and supervise proper rotation of employees within your area at supervisors' directions.

Inspect work areas for any food safety and employee safety issues and report deviations to the quality assurance department.

Bring boxes to the packing room from the box storage room when needed to assist material movers on days off.

Identify product that needs to be packed. Understand first in First out and customer spec requirements.

Organize and control day-to-day activities in the production room.

Ensure employees arrive at work on time and make sure their attire is appropriate for work.

Ensure employees understand and exercise Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

Ensure safety and food safety standards are complied with and employees work in a safe manner.

Supervise and coordinate activities of workers in the production areas.

Ensure that the proper documentation is being fulfilled during production including product date coding.

Be familiar with the trace back system and be able to troubleshoot any issues in a positive manner.

Ensure that mushrooms prepared within your area are produced on a timely basis with a minimum of rework for an optimum product.

Train area personnel and create an effective team.

If conflicts arise with staff, report to the production supervisors and HR. Assist HR when needed.

Make reasonable and effective decisions in a fast-paced work environment.

Physical Demands:

Employee must be able to remain in a Stationary Position at most 75% of the time.

Employee must be able to move around and about the production floor the entire day.

Must be able to operate a computer.

Must be able to operate powered industrial trucks.

Must be able to communicate with others in their language and recognize their language as well as other safety signals.

Must be able to move up to 50 lbs of mushrooms by hand between pallets.

Must be able to be exposed to refrigerated environments for long periods of time.

Hourly Requirements:

Employee is expected to work 48 hours and 6 days a week when work is available and as directed by your supervisor. This job is considered a Full-Time job.

Job Description Summary:

Employee shall comply with the company's policies and procedures that include Food Safety, Employee Safety and Good Operational Practices.

Employee will work cohesively with the Production department, Shipping department and QA department. They must learn and understand completely the product specifications and customer requirements to produce proper orders. They must help manage the people and tasks in the department completely. In the absence of the Assistant Supervisor, the packing Supervisor or Back-up Asst. Supervisor will assume the responsibility to assign a capable individual to fulfil the tasks mentioned in this description.
