Moore Industries, Inc. is looking for a full-time Accounting Assistant to assist with the day-to-day financial operations of the organization. This position will be a full-time, on-site position.

Description

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for performing daily accounting duties including, but not limited to: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Collections, Cost Accounting and Fixed Assets management. The position works with financial and personnel information that requires confidentiality and proper safeguarding.

Responsibilities

Manage accounts receivable and contact customers regarding payments using proper collections procedures

Follow up on, research and resolve payment discrepancies with customers

Collect, allocate, and post deposits

Process credits with proper authorization

Match vendor invoices with receiving documentation

Investigate discrepancies with vendor invoices

Enter vendor invoices into ERP system

Schedule vendor payments

Review and post daily production reporting and inventory adjustments. Review inventory variances and report findings to management

Process journal entries for weekly payroll and submit IRA contribution reports to 3rd party administrator for processing

Record capital acquisitions and assist with maintaining fixed assets schedule, as needed

Assist with managing tooling expense logs, as needed

Assist with monthly account reconciliations and financial reporting preparation

Assist in meeting financial accounting objectives

Maintain records, filing and general administrative duties

Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by the Controller

Report any safety issues immediately

Other duties and secondary functions as assigned

Requirements

Physical

Sit for a normal 8-hour shift

Occasionally stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch

Must have full range of body movements including use of hands to handle or feel objects

Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Repetitively grab, flex, and twist hands, shoulders, and upper extremities

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Due to time-sensitive nature of manufacturing, some overtime including 12-hour shifts and weekend work may be required

Must wear personal protective equipment as required

Preferred Education and Experience

3+ years of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable experience in a manufacturing environment, required

Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications, including ERP systems, preferred

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm
