The Operator learns and operates CNC Machines and machining centers and applies basic knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques.

Essential Job Functions

Learns industrial math, print reading, and machining theory related to the department they are assigned.

Under the guidance of the Level 3 Trainor or Team Leader, the operator learns skills related to the department they are assigned.

Loads raw material and unloads finished product from the machine.

Performs basic deburring on the product.

Learns safety basics, sawing, drilling, materials, turning, and speeds and feeds.

Learns safe operation and receives practical experience on lathes and milling machines within the assigned department.

Follows the sequence of operation on a router.

Communicates with co-workers and team leader to receive instructions and coordinate activities.

Job Classification Requirements

High school graduate with previous manufacturing experience a plus;

Must have a good work ethic;

Must be dependable and flexible with a good attendance record;

Must be detailed oriented;

Must have aspirations of becoming a machinist;

Must stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor;

Exerts between 10 and 50 pounds frequently;

Constantly adheres to Company safety policies
