POSITION SUMMARY:

Work with external salesman, plant production, and sub-contractors to prepare quotations for products and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Answer emails/phone calls for product quotes (usually from salesman)

Analyze, compare and interpret detailed and sometimes poorly defined information

Read and understand blueprints

Process information through quoting program (currently QuoteWerks)

Contact vendors for quotes for needed product(s)

Contact freight companies for hauling quotes

Gather & analyze cost data for desired product(s)

Save all quoted data in appropriate files (paper and/or electronic)

Keep files organized (active orders, dead, lost, etc.)

Update vendor pricing in quoting systems

Back-up help for purchasing department

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Experience in quoting and/or mechanical engineering

Strong mathematics skills, specifically geometry

Excellent organizational skills

Excellent communication skills

Familiarity with MS Office suite

Sound judgment and problem-solving skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must be able to sit in front of a computer for long periods of time

Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently

Must be able to work well with a variety of people with different backgrounds, education levels and intelligence

Must be able to work in a high-demand, fast-paced environment

Must have a strong attention to details

Must be highly organized
