Man of the People is hiring dependable Snow Plow Operators for the 2026--2027 winter season in Eagle County.

Operators report to our vehicle staging location at Vail Church and operate company-owned 4WD vehicles equipped with snowplows on established residential routes throughout the Vail Valley.

A standard residential route generally involves approximately 3--4 hours of active plowing, depending on conditions. Snow-event workdays may be longer. Additional work may include second passes, commercial-property service, shoveling, equipment preparation, cleanup, or other snow-removal assignments and is paid separately at $35/hour.

Employees who want additional hours will often have opportunities to take on additional snow-removal work during larger or longer-duration events.

Responsibilities include:

Operating a company-owned snowplow vehicle on an assigned residential route

Safely and efficiently clearing residential driveways and designated access areas

Following established routes and property-specific service instructions

Performing basic pre- and post-shift vehicle and plow checks

Communicating route progress, hazards, equipment problems, and service issues

Protecting company equipment and customer property

Supporting additional snow-removal work when assigned or desired

Qualifications:

Valid driver's license and safe driving record

Strong winter-driving skills

Dependable availability during snow events

Ability to work independently and make good decisions

Availability for some nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays

Good judgment, attention to safety, and respect for customer property

Prior snowplow, equipment, commercial driving, landscaping, construction, or similar experience preferred

Prior plowing experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate with strong winter-driving skills, good judgment, and a demonstrated record of reliability.

Compensation and bonus:
