Responsible for independently managing a discretionary cross-asset macro trading portfolio, with a focus on developed market rates, FX, equities, and commodities. The role requires the application of advanced quantitative, technical, and macroeconomic research techniques to generate absolute-return strategies while adhering to strict risk management parameters. Daily responsibilities include: Develop and execute discretionary and semi-systematic macro trading strategies across rates, FX, equities, and commodities; Construct portfolios by combining directional, relative value, and volatility expressions; Conduct in-depth analysis of global macroeconomic trends, central bank reaction functions, market microstructure, and capital flow dynamics; Ensure adherence to risk limits while maximizing expected value of trades to deliver consistent risk-adjusted returns; Interact with global investment teams to identify emergent macro themes; and Manage the work of analysts and collaborate with technology/risk teams to develop proprietary research and risk tools. Requires a Masters degree in Mathematics in Finance, Financial Engineering, Physics, a related field or foreign equivalent, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience in portfolio management and macro trading at hedge funds. Experience must include: 5 years of Buyside experience running a macro trading strategy adhering to strict drawdown and portfolio parameters; 5 years experience structuring option trades particularly across FX markets; 5 years experience looking at cross-asset class models; 5 years experience with stochastic processes, Ito calculus, arbitrage-free pricing, PDEs in finance, and Monte Carlo simulation methods; and * 5 years experience with quantitative programming including C++ and Python.
