Position Summary:

Lewistown Presbyterian Church is seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy individual to serve as our Financial Secretary. This role is essential in managing and maintaining accurate financial records, processing contributions, and ensuring fiscal accountability in alignment with the mission and values of our church.

Key Responsibilities:

Record and deposit all tithes, offerings, and other income.

Maintain accurate records of individual giving and provide periodic giving statements.

Manage accounts payable and ensure timely payment of invoices.

Assist with payroll preparation.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Work closely with the Treasurer and Finance Committee to support budgeting and audits.

Ensure confidentiality of all financial and personal information.

Comply with financial policies and procedures approved by the church leadership.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.

Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial record-keeping.

Proficiency with accounting software (preferably QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity.

Familiarity with church financial practices and nonprofit accounting is a plus.

Hours & Compensation:

14 hours/week

Compensation commensurate with experience.
