Job Summary:

The Plasma Cutter Operator (Metal Fabricator / CNC Machining) is responsible for cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components to meet production specifications. This position involves operating plasma cutting systems, reading blueprints, and working with various fabrication tools to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency in all projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up, program and operate CNC plasma cutting equipment to cut metal plates and sheet materials according to blueprints and work orders.

Read and interpret work orders and blueprints to determine machine setup, tooling, and cutting paths.

Measure, cut, bend, and shape metal materials using fabrication tools and machinery (saws, grinders, shears, brakes, etc.)

Inspect finished parts for precision, quality, and adherence to specifications.

Maintain and adjust cutting parameters, feeds, and speeds for different materials and thickness.

Perform basic maintenance on tools and plasma cutting equipment.

Track production runs and completes required documentation accurately.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company safety policies.

Collaborate with supervisors, welders, and fabricators to coordinate workflow and meet production schedules.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.

1-3 years of experience in metal fabrication or plasma cutting.

Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
