Job Duties Under general supervision, receives, sorts, corrects, and reconciles a variety of accounting documents such as invoices, payment vouchers, and billings. Posts data to appropriate accounts, reviews and codes financial information, disburses funds, makes deposits and prepares financial reports. Work is performed by applying knowledge of accounting terminology and through the use of spreadsheets, database software and/or complex computer systems.

Minimum Education Required Education:

Per the Minnesota Department of Health Merit System.

High school degree, or the equivalent, and in addition, either: o two years of experience involving clerical and bookkeeping; or completion of college coursework, vocational school, or business school training in accounting or related fields may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the experience involving a combination of clerical and bookkeeping responsibilities.

Minimum Experience Required Requirements:

Knowledge of accounting terminology and practices.

Knowledge of spreadsheets and database software.

Knowledge of the automated accounting system used in the work area.

Knowledge of general record keeping and filing systems.

Knowledge of techniques used in locating errors.

Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
