SUMMARY

The Buyer/Planner I I I will be responsible for the purchasing, planning and inventory control in their assigned product line ( s ) . T he Buyer / Planner I I I must demonstrate a consistent ability to achieve OTD/ PD plant objectives and inventory levels . The Buyer/Planner III should also demonstrate a desire and the skills necessary to mentor a specific group of, or individual , buyer/planners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the day - to - day PO placement and maintenance , align ing materials to meet the production schedule

Aligns supply chain to future customer demand

Implementing a forward planning process to minimize purchase part shortages

Implement best materials practices to improve efficiency

Discuss defective or unacceptable goods w ith Supplier Q uality and suppliers to determine source of trouble and take corrective action

Serve as the f irst level of escalation for supply chain issues in the product line ( s ) they are supporting

Assist in supplier negotiation efforts with the global sourcing team such as setting up long - term contracts and helping to align supplier commitments with production needs

Lead calls with key suppliers to ensure they will be able to meet product line needs

Support sourcing of new parts and PPV (Purchase Price Variance) /VAVE (Value A nalysis Value Engineer ing ) efforts in their product line to meet business goals

Lead projects in their areas as designated by the Materials Manager

Work to improve processes in their area ( s ) by making them more automated and efficient

Assists in i nitiatives to help align materials team with company goals

Track KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) and other metrics and reviews results with Materials Manager

Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel

Oracle experience or strong understanding of ERP systems

Strong lean manufacturing background

Team player, self-motivated

Results orientat ed

Experience with new product launches and inventory/supplier management

Passionate about application of continuous improvement tools

5 years of related experience

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

BA/BS Degree in Materials , Supply Chain or Business Management or equivalent combination of experience and education.

F ive years of experience in purchasing, planning, or scheduling in a manufacturing environment.

APICS or ISM (CPIM or CPM) certifications .

Has consistently established a history of meeting or exceeding KPI targets.

Physical Demand and Work Environment:

Physical demands - required to be on the manufacturing floor and will include bending, sitting, and lifting up to 50lbs.
