General Description

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/ FUNCTIONS

Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information

Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes

Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations

Familiar with the use of copy machines and must have at least Basic knowledge of Excel to perform calculations.

Code Accounts Payable related documents according to company procedures

Perform financial calculations, such as amounts due, interest charges, balances and discounts

Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records

Perform related office duties, such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence

Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts

Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers on ERP system

Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software

Use system to match purchase orders with invoices, and record the necessary information

Calculate and prepare checks for all suppliers and service providers, and other payments via wire, ACH and online

Monitor status of loans and accounts to ensure that payments are up to date

Prepare aged accounts payable reports.

Compile statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash expenditures and all related accounts payable activity.

Prepares sales and use taxes and 1099's

Follows 5S procedures.

Other job-related duties as assigned.

Note: some overtime may be necessary

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/ KSA

An associate degree or higher in accounting is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience

7 years' experience as an Accounts Payable specialist

Strong skills in MS Office

Skilled in using accounts payable software

Skilled at using personal computers, , copiers, and scanners

Strong communication skills both orally and in writing with internal and external partners

Skilled in thinking critically and solving problems

Possesses a good business acumen and maintains strict confidentiality

Skilled in, active learning, listening & making sound decisions regarding suppliers and customers

Skilled at Time Management & Organization

Skilled at using math to solve problems

Skilled at documenting information

Knowledge of how to analyze data and information and convey the results

Ability to research topics that may be unfamiliar

Ability to tell when something is inaccurate or is likely to become inaccurate

Ability to be flexible

PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

7 years' experience as an accounts payable specialist, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Skilled in using ERP software, IFS a plus.

Strong skills in MS office including Excel.

Highly skilled in thinking critically and able to solve problems

Skilled in making sound decisions with little to no information

WORKING CONDITIONS

Typical working conditions at Kitron are indoors, safe, well lit, temperature controlled, low exposure to noxious fumes or offensive odors, clean and sanitary conditions with average light industrial noise. Production areas have machinery with moving parts. Static dissipative smock, and shoes are required in Production areas. Offices with locking doors, meeting rooms, and common printing areas are well lit, clean, low noise, and temperature controlled with no exposure to noxious fumes or offensive odors.
