Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Italian Cook to prepare authentic Italian cuisine, including pasta, sauces, pizzas, and traditional dishes, while maintaining the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Italian culinary traditions, a strong knowledge of ingredients, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook a variety of Italian dishes, including fresh pasta, sauces, pizzas, meats, seafood, and desserts.

Follow authentic Italian recipes while also contributing creative ideas for seasonal menu specials.

Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and presentation of all dishes.

Oversee kitchen prep, including fresh ingredient preparation (e.g., vegetables, herbs, dough, and sauces).

Ensure proper portion control and minimize waste.

Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work area in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Monitor inventory of ingredients and communicate supply needs to management.

Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.

Adapt recipes to meet dietary needs or customer preferences when appropriate.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a cook, preferably in Italian cuisine.

Strong knowledge of Italian cooking techniques, ingredients, and traditional recipes.

Ability to make fresh pasta, sauces, and pizza from scratch (preferred).

Knowledge of kitchen safety, sanitation, and food handling standards.

Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
