iTeam Legal Solutions is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. This position supports attorneys and staff in the preparation, organization, and management of legal documents and case files. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and capable of handling confidential and time-sensitive information with integrity and discretion.

Primary Responsibilities:

Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents including pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and filings

Maintain and organize client files, records, and case management systems

Schedule and manage attorney calendars, including hearings, deadlines, and meetings

Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and third parties via phone, email, and written correspondence

Assist with intake of new clients and opening of case files

Perform legal research under attorney supervision when needed

File documents with courts electronically and in person (as required)

Track case progress and assist in preparing reports and case summaries

Assist with logging incoming/outgoing mail and drafting status updates for clients

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or paralegal certification preferred

At least 1 year of experience working in a legal environment (law firm or legal office)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent time management and organizational abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management systems

Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience:

Familiarity with civil, family, or post-conviction legal processes

Experience using case management software or legal databases

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
