Tracking Code 217789-072 Job Description Summary: As a Research & Development Engineer, you will play a key role in developing new and improved products while solving production challenges. You'll use SolidWorks extensively, but hands-on problem-solving, prototyping, and clear communication are just as important. You'll have access to a full machine/fabrication shop and 3D printing, as well as direct collaboration with trusted local and overseas suppliers from proto@type to production. Essential Functions:

Develop new products and improve existing products, from concept through production

Collaborate with cross functional product development team members

Create engineering specifications, drawings, and test plans

Work hands-on with machining, fabrication, and prototyping tools

Support regulatory compliance, including FDA-compliant design documentation

Qualifications:

Mechanical engineering degree required

SolidWorks proficiency required (experience with surfacing/NURBS modeling is a plus)

Experience creating engineering drawings

Hands-on mechanical design experience outside of classwork required

Some fabrication or machining experience necessary

Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Ability to thrive in a hands-on, blue-collar work environment

Aesthetic or ergonomic design experience preferred

Experience working with manufacturers or vendors (especially overseas) preferred

Experience in the medical or rehab industry preferred
