Position Title: Training Program Coordinator

Annual Salary: $88,000 - $90,000

Location: Various areas of New York State

FTE: Full Time Position

Summary of position:Support, provide, and facilitate the training and mentoring of Local District Staff Development Coordinators in collaboration with key stakeholders including, but not limited to, personnel of the sponsor (New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance Bureau of Training and Staff Development [NYS OTDA TSD]) and LEADS offices.

Responsibilities:

Serves as a statewide liaison to local district Staff Development Coordinators (SDCs).

Works collaboratively with NYS OTDA TSD, LEADS, and other key stakeholders to arrange, develop, and deliver onsite and web-based training for SDCs including, but not limited to, orientation, basic training, advanced training and training about distance learning and instructional technologies.

Participates with stakeholders in development of training schedules.

Develops, maintains, and updates curriculum, training manuals, and workbooks.

Facilitates the statewide Staff Development Training Workgroup; coordinates and facilitates meetings, provides oversight for training initiatives, and implements special projects.

Coordinates the Field Evaluation Committee activities for the local district review of State sponsored training programs and delivers training for Field Evaluation Committee members and designated local district evaluators.

Coordinates Regional SDC Committees including preparation of materials and attendance at regional meetings at locations throughout the State.

Provides support for the statewide SDCs Advisory Committee and coordinates the orientation to the Staff Development Advisory Committee.

Contributes to planning the Staff Development Coordinators Annual Meeting (SDCAM)

Provides consultation and technical assistance for SDCs related to training evaluation, learning management system features, individual professional development plans, and accessing NYS OTDA TSD training resources

Provides consultation and technical assistance to local districts in the areas of training needs assessment, staff development program operations, and local district training contract development.

Assesses emerging workplace and service delivery changes within local districts and develops recommendations for educational and organizational development support.

Collects, analyzes, and reports data to LEADS managers, the sponsor, and other stakeholders as appropriate.

Works cooperatively with other university partners to ensure effective program operations.

Creates and maintains positive professional relationships, and performs other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications for the position:

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in related field

Required Skill Set:

Minimum of five years' experience as a training facilitator/adult educator

Experience presenting using online platforms such as Zoom, Webex, and Microsoft Teams

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in curriculum development, including designing, developing, and updating training materials and instructional content

Experience working in a local district of social services

Experience as a Staff Development Coordinator

Physical requirements:

Able to sit for long periods of time.

Ability to assist with physical set up of training or training-related activities such as audio-visual equipment, charts, seating, tables, etc.

Travel Requirements:

Must be able to occasionally travel to locations throughout New York State.
