The Procedure Coordinator position is a 12-month contract position working on-site for our Specialty Chemical Client located in Port Neches, TX.

We are seeking a dynamic individual to serve as an Instrument and Electrical (IandE) test procedure writer. This role is essential for developing accurate, clear, and concise test procedures for IandE equipment used in instrumented independent protection layers (IPLs). These procedures support mechanical integrity and functional safety requirements. The candidate will collaborate with teams across the organizationincluding safety instrumented systems, process safety management, process control, IandE maintenance, and project engineeringto ensure procedures meet operational needs. The scope includes approximately 1,000 PSM-critical instrumented IPLs installed across 17 operating units, covering systems such as safety instrumented systems, distributed control loops, local control loops, emergency shutdowns, and alarms.

Qualifications:

Strong instrumentation background in industrial facilities, including SIS experience, instrument testing methods, and procedure development.

Proficient in generating and updating IandE test procedures using logic narratives, ladder logic, function blocks, cause-and-effect diagrams, PandIDs, and IandE drawings.

Familiar with PLC/DCS configuration and able to work with process control engineers on testing complex control loops.

Experienced in reviewing bulk test procedures and implementing updates for MOC projects.

Good knowledge of instrumented IPLs in process hazard scenarios and their role in functional safety.

Understanding of SIS and IandE design documents for use in procedure creation or modification.

Participates in the Process Safety Engineering Team to support SIS safety life cycle phases and functional testing.
