Review and prepare patient medical records prior to exam to ensure completeness; obtain missing documentation as needed. Assist with initiating patient history and physical assessments; support physicians and/or nurse practitioners during exams and simple inhouse procedures. Check patient vital signs and body measurements; accurately document results in charts or EMR. Prepare and maintain exam/treatment rooms, sanitize after patient use, maintain inventory of supplies, report defective equipment. Collect specimens (e.g., urine) for lab testing, prepare specimens for outside labs, perform basic lab work (if required) such as urinalysis. Perform EKGs, administer breathing treatments, injections (if in scope), and other clinical support tasks. Assist with scheduling and referrals of patients to other treatments or specialties. Answer phone calls, respond to patient requests, explain provider instructions to patients within scope, provide patient teaching as appropriate. Maintain compliance with regulatory, safety, and confidentiality standards (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA). Perform other duties as assigned and may provide support across multiple clinic sites.

Proficiency working in an EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system: creating and updating patient charts, entering vitals, documenting exams and lab results, retrieving prior records, scanning documents. Scheduling software / practice-management modules: setting appointments, verifying availability, updating patient demographics, coordinating referrals via the system. Insurance demographics and verification modules: updating insurance data, verifying eligibility, entering copays or billing information into software. Basic office productivity software: Microsoft Word, Excel (tracking, spreadsheets, maybe supplies/inventory). Use of standard office equipment tied to software: multi-line phone systems, scanners, printers, online patient portals. Ability to use or learn multiple systems/platforms: e.g., switching between EHR, billing modules, scheduling modules, referral tracking tools. Data entry accuracy and speed: entering patient details, exam results, lab reports, and making sure the system records are complete and accurate. Understanding of confidentiality/security procedures: HIPAA compliance, securing electronic patient data, log-ins, password protection, handling sensitive documents.

Must be bilingual (English/ Spanish) to communicate with Spanish-speaking patients.
