JOB TITLE: Finance Coordinator

FLSA STATUS: Full-Time

STATUS: Exempt

REPORTS: Executive Director

JOB SUMMARY

The Finance Coordinator is responsible for maintaining timely and accurate accounting records for Hispanic Center Lehigh Valley financial operations, ensuring all accounting practices are aligned with the agency's mission, vision and values. The intent of this job description is to provide a summary of the major duties and responsibilities of this position and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the position.

Essential Responsibilities and Functions Include

Prepares and presents monthly and year-to-date financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss by classes, and cash flow reports for management, the Finance Committee, and the Board of Directors.

Creates journal entries and allocates expenses by programs as needed.

Prepares for the annual audit and retrieves necessary financial documents.

Develops fiscal year budgets and projections for programs and administration in collaboration with leadership for Board approval.

Processes accounts payable invoices and maintains cash receipts and disbursement records in QuickBooks.

Prepares and submits monthly invoices (accounts receivable) for programming and other financial needs.

Performs monthly bank reconciliations and maintains fixed asset and depreciation records.

Processes payroll and PTO requests upon approval from appropriate leadership.

Monitors income in collaboration with the Development Manager, tracks expenses, ensures compliance with contracts, and develops budgets for grants and fundraising events.

Negotiates insurance policies, audits donations, maintains contracts, and upholds confidentiality in all financial matters.

Education/Training

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.

Preferred 3+ years experience in nonprofit sector.

Additional Requirements

Knowledge of standard accounting principles and procedures and basic fund accounting (GAAP and OMB).

Ability to analyze general ledger transactions and monitor for complete accuracy.

Ability to utilize computer technology for job tasks, experience with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software required.

Work Schedule

40 hours per week, Monday -- Friday, evening or weekends as needed.

Supervision

Supervised by Executive Director.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
