Cooks to prepare food for its residents in accordance with approved menus, recipes, and sanitation standards. Lead cook experience is preferred as well as experience in hospitals, nursing homes, residential homes, schools or corrections. HHRC is a premier Assisted Living Facility located in Burkeville, VA, that has always been known for its excellent food. Come be a part of our team!

Part Time possibly leading to Full-time, as well as the ability to pick up extra shifts based on the circumstances.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience with food preparation in a restaurant-like environment (2-years preferred).

Demonstrated cooking skills and ability to follow menus and recipes

Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Must be flexible, detail-oriented, able to multi-task and make effective decisions

Attendance must be timely and consistent

Safe-Serve certification is desired

Significant Duties:

Prepare or direct preparation of meals and snacks

Follow recipes and menus to deliver tasty and nutritious fare for facility patrons

Comply with established food handling regulations including dietary policies and procedures, local health department standards and state and federal standards

Monitor and record food temperatures throughout the food preparation process including storage, cooking, holding, and serving

Maintain a clean working environment

Assist Food Service Manager with purchasing, storage, or inventory

Perform other duties as assigned
