POSITION SUMMARY

The Feed Mill Associate is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the feed mill by assisting with feed production, ingredient handling, equipment operation, quality control, and general facility maintenance. This position plays an important role in producing safe, high-quality feed products while maintaining a clean, efficient, and safe work environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and willing to learn all aspects of feed mill operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent.

Ability to safely perform physical labor in a manufacturing or agricultural environment.

Strong commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and productivity.

Basic math skills and ability to complete production documentation.

Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in a feed mill, grain facility, agricultural operation, manufacturing, or production environment.

Experience operating forklifts, loaders, skid steers, or other material handling equipment.

Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.

Experience with inventory control, quality assurance, or production documentation.

Knowledge of feed manufacturing processes and agricultural products.

Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.

Assist with daily feed mill operations, including receiving, processing, mixing, pelleting, loading, and handling of feed products.

Operate and monitor feed mill equipment to support efficient production while maintaining product quality standards.

Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming ingredients and supplies.

Accurately measure, weigh, and transfer ingredients according to production requirements and established formulas.

Monitor production processes and equipment to identify issues, abnormalities, or safety concerns and report them to management.

Perform routine equipment checks, basic maintenance, and cleaning activities to support reliable mill operations.

Maintain proper housekeeping standards throughout the facility, including production areas, equipment, and workspaces.

Assist with inventory management by monitoring ingredient levels, completing counts, and reporting shortages or discrepancies.

Complete required production records, logs, and documentation accurately and timely.

Follow feed safety, quality assurance, and regulatory guidelines to ensure product integrity.

Assist with product sampling, testing, and quality control procedures as required.

Safely operate forklifts, loaders, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed.

Assist with warehouse, packaging, and customer loading activities when required.
