JOB DESCRIPTION:

Full-Time

SCHEDULE:

40hrs per week including rotating Saturdays (1-2 per month) and Monday evenings (This may vary during the first month while training)

SALARY:

Starting at $38,000/yr

Benefits are available after completing the probationary period. Eligible for PTO. Healthcare, vision, and dental insurance. MERS Retirement. Paid holidays when positions would be normally scheduled but the library is closed (New Year's Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day).

ADULT SERVICES DUTIES:

Provides active and passive programs for library patrons ages 18+. Duties include, but are not limited to

Creating and performing virtual or in person adult programs on various topics

Marketing adult-oriented programs and services on library website, social media, and other mediums as applicable

Putting together take-and-make activity kits, as applicable

Creating and executing timely and well-rounded material displays for the adult area on a regular basis

Creating marketing materials for adult department programs in cooperation with other library departments

Fostering an environment that is inclusive of all adults and families

Engages regularly and positively with adult and senior patrons

Continuously builds on relevant knowledge to perform reader's advisory for adult materials

Maintains awareness of new adult materials in the collection

Curates and maintains the adult collection consisting of fiction and non-fiction books, audiobooks, large print, DVDs, video games, board games, kits, and special collection items.

Prepares Processing Slips for cataloging

Manages the adult programming and materials budgets

Coordinates with the Youth Librarian and Director on library initiatives

Performs outreach with local organizations, retirement homes, and senior
