Electrical Estimator

The Electrical Estimator independently prepares accurate and competitive cost estimates for small to mid-sized projects or defined scopes within larger projects. This role exercises sound judgment with limited oversight, manages supplier pricing, identifies scope risks, and contributes to bid strategy discussions.

Your Impact:

Review drawings, specifications, and addenda to define complete project scope

Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs using estimating software

Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for assigned projects or scopes

Coordinate supplier and subcontractor pricing to ensure complete coverage

Identify scope gaps, constructability issues, and project risks

Contribute to value-engineering opportunities and alternate pricing

Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures

Maintain estimating tools, assemblies, and cost databases

Participate in estimate handoffs and clarify assumptions and risks

Provide guidance to Associate Estimators

Who you are:

Bachelor's degree preferred

Typically 3-7 years of electrical construction or estimating experience demonstrating increasing responsibility.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Understanding of value engineering concept and knowledge of electrical code, building codes and standards.

Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, Accubid.

Solid understanding of electrical systems and construction methods

Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software

Working knowledge of NEC and applicable codes

Ability to perform labor analysis and quantity verification
