Glendive Public Schools is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and organized Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist to join our district team. If you have strong accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll experience and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, this is a great opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our schools and staff.

The Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist will:

Begin with primary responsibility for Accounts Payable, with training and a planned transition into increasing Payroll responsibilities

Review, process, and pay authorized invoices while ensuring timely entry into automated systems

Maintain accurate vendor files and respond to vendor payment inquiries

Process payroll data for all school district employees and maintain accurate, up-to-date payroll records

Prepare, verify, and distribute payroll and other authorized checks

Balance payroll and withholding accounts

Maintain confidentiality of employee and student information

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Business Manager to support an efficient and effective work environment

What We're Looking For:

An Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Management or

A High School Diploma or equivalent education with at least three years of accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll experience

Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Applications, and Adobe

Strong mathematical and analytical skills; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The ability to manage multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under time constraints

The ability to handle telephone calls and personal contacts with tact, diplomacy, and discretion

The ability to interpret and analyze data and effectively communicate information

A proactive attitude and a desire to create a positive experience for others

The ability to maintain confidentiality of employment and student matters
