Description

General Shale, Inc., the nation's leading manufacturer of brick and masonry products, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join our accounting team in Johnson City, TN or Augusta, GA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing and reporting costs to support strategic decision-making. This role plays a key part in budgeting, inventory valuation, and cost control efforts.

Responsibilities will include:

Work closely with sales managers and plant locations to analyze production and sales variances.

Assist with annual forecasting and budget preparation.

Prepare cost estimates.

Monitor transactions and ensure accurate reporting.

Participating in additional projects as necessary.

Position requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related curriculum.

1-5 years of manufacturing cost accounting or SAP FI/CO experience with emphasis in production cost analysis and some sales/distribution accounting.

Computer proficiency (particularly with Excel)

Attention to detail, strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment.
