Essential Functions

Manage manufacturing activities required to introduce a new product into volume production

Develop and verify work instructions, bills of materials, routines, and labor standards for new products

Work closely with manufacturing, research and development, quality assurance and maintenance personnel to prevent problems with products and tooling/fixtures.

Stay informed concerning new manufacturing technologies and equipment to manufacture and reduce cost through efficiencies.

Ensure manufacturing product specifications are developed and testing procedures are in place prior to engaging vendors/subcontractors.

Manage day-to-day transactional activities for Engineering Changes (ECs), Part Number (ICSs), Deviation Authorizations (DAs), and Corrective Action Requests (CARs) processes.

Update labels/configurations/other drawings as required for Engineering Changes.

Monitor the status of engineering change issues and follow-up on each issue as required.

Assist in developing plant layout in planning rearrangement of facility, equipment, and operations for better utilization of space.

Ensure manufacturing safety regulatory policies and procedures are implemented and always maintained.

Assist in reducing cost through re-engineering product/material.

Responsible for training vendors/subcontractors on new product launches to meet target date.

Assist in the development and improvement of manufacturing processes for efficiency and consistency.

Assist with the design and validation of specialized manufacturing equipment.

Assist procurement and engineering in the identification, evaluation, and selection of suppliers.

Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, ISO requirements.

Comply with safety policies, practices, and procedures.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering required

One to three years' experience in manufacturing engineering required

Must have hands-on experience with Change Management tools and processes

Skills & Qualifications

Experience with tool design and modifications

Experience with manufacturing machinery and automation

Experience with lean manufacturing

Experience with coatings, metal fabrications, plastic molding, epoxies, and adhesives

Strong computer abilities, with excellent analytical and organizational skills

Attention to detail and data quality

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are essential

Working knowledge of AutoCAD & SolidWorks.

Ability to prioritize and multi-task in an ever-changing, fast paced environment

Work Environment

Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation and moderate noise

May work with or near moving mechanical equipment

Physical Demands

Minimal to moderate physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an office/clerical nature to work from a sitting or standing position.

Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers

Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crouch

Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time

Must be able to lift up to twenty pounds, with or without assistance
