Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for implementing the Nursing Process based on established Standards of Practice and ensuring all patient care policies and procedures are adhered to in accordance with Garnet Health Medical Center - Catskill's Hospital policies, the Nurse Practice Act, and the New York State Licensure requirements. The registered nurse will be able to exhibit critical thinking, effectively organize/prioritize accordingly, and implement evidence-based nursing

Compensation for this role is $48.50 - $74.60

Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member's compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity)

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.

Minimum Experience:

One year of medical/surgical experience in an acute care setting is required

Required Certification/Registration:

Currently licensed and registered in NY State to practice as a registered professional nurse.

Successful completion of the BLS Provider Course to being released from unit orientation. BLS renewal is not required once ACLS is obtained.

Successful completion of an AWHONN Basic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) course within 6 months of hire.

Successful completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 6 months of hire.

Successful completion of ACLS Provider Course within 6 months of hire.

Successful completion of the S.T.A.B.L.E. program within 6 months of hire.

Successful completion of an AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring (EFM) course within two years of hire, and every 2 years thereafter.

AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification within 3 years preferred.

RNC, RN, or Obstetrical Nursing Certification preferred.

Maintains all required certifications for the areas assigned.

Working Conditions:

Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated, or ventilated facility. No routine exposure to hazards.

Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform the full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate a computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing, and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and to prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills, and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Detailed attention is required to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours, including evenings and potentially weekends, to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
