Job Overview:

A Medical Assistant provides vital support to healthcare teams by assisting with administrative tasks, patient care, and medical procedures. Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

Patient Interaction: Greet patients, take their medical history, and update records in the system.

Vital Signs: Measure and record patients' vital signs (e.g., temperature, blood pressure, pulse, weight).

Specimen Collection: Assist with collecting lab samples (blood, urine, etc.) and prepare specimens for testing.

Assist in Examinations: Prepare patients for examinations and assist healthcare providers during procedures or exams.

Administer Injections or Medications: Under supervision, administer medications and vaccines as directed by the physician or nurse.

Prepare and Sterilize Equipment: Ensure medical equipment is properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for use.

Patient Education: Provide patients with instructions about treatments, medications, or procedures.

Administrative Duties:

Scheduling Appointments: Schedule patient appointments, confirm visits, and maintain an organized calendar.

Medical Records: Manage patient records, ensuring they are accurate, up-to-date, and confidential.

Insurance Verification: Assist with insurance verification and patient billing processes.

Medical Coding: Perform basic medical coding for billing and insurance purposes, ensuring correct procedures are billed.

Filing and Documentation: Maintain patient charts and files in an organized manner, ensuring proper documentation for medical visits.

Telephone Support: Answer phones, take messages, and direct patients to the appropriate department or provider.
