As VP of Construction Lending - Barndominium, youll lead a fast-growing niche in residential construction helping clients build custom post-frame and steel-frame homes (aka barndos) from the ground up.

This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of a unique lending product and shape the future of barndo lending across the country all from the heart of a values-driven bank that still puts people first.

What You'll Do: As VP, Construction Lending - Barndominium, you'll be responsible for actively producing construction barndo transactions while developing, implementing, and achieving the strategic and annual operating budget and plans of the Barndo product. You'll be responsible for the profitable operation of the business unit while complying with all relevant and applicable laws. You'll lead and oversee a broad array of functions and staff that may include a Construction Loan Officer - Barndominium and/or Associate Construction Loan Officer - Barndominium.

Your core responsibilities will include:

Lead and grow our Barndominium Lending division, including strategy, production goals, budgeting, and marketing.

Manage and mentor a team of Construction Lenders focused on the barndo product.

Actively producing construction barndo transactions while establishing new relationships with nationwidepost-frame/steel-frame suppliers, as well as builders while maintaining current relationships throughout the Barndo building community.

Oversee the full loan lifecycle - from prospecting and education through construction draw approval and closing.

Represent the bank at industry events, builder expos, and within barndo-specific networks and associations (e.g. NFBA)

Drive innovation in lead management, customer experience, and digital tools (e.g. Blend, Encompass, HubSpot, Power BI)

What You Bring:

10+ years of progressive experience in construction leadership and originations.

Strong understanding of construction budgeting, timelines, SFR building processes, lien laws, appraisals, and secondary markets.

Proven ability to build, lead, and motivate high-performing Construction Lending teams.

Familiarity with tools like Encompass, HubSpot, Blend, and Power BI a plus.

Excellent communication skills and a passion for educating clients and supporting contractors.

A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or closely related field preferred.
