Description

Job Overview: Monitor delinquency and control for Consumer Loan Portfolio in order to protect the Bank from loss. Inbound and outbound collection calls and letters to delinquent customers, conducting personal interviews with customers to create a workout plan for repayment. Monitoring daily and monthly reports and corresponding by mail and telephone to maintain acceptable past due results. Processing payment requests. Process Bankruptcy correspondence and claim filings and participation in account referral to collection agencies and Foreclosure process.

The candidate for this position will be responsible for:

Monitoring default information and making recommendations to the Special Assets Supervisor to refer delinquent accounts for claims

Reviewing reports and compiling documentation on delinquent accounts

Making collection calls and processing collection letters daily

Bankruptcy correspondence and claim filings

Participation in Foreclosure process and document gathering for outside counsel

Providing administrative support for internal and external customers in order to provide exceptional customer service

Researching payment postings and resolving potential posting errors

Review Credit Bureau reports for potential errors to request corrections

Responding to consumer collection issues

Providing back up to the Special Assets Leadership for processing reports, gathering documents or referrals to outside collection agency

Requirements for the position include:

A high school diploma (or equivalent)

Strong oral and written interpersonal communication skills

The ability to organize and maintain account records

Basic computer skills

Self-starter and strong problem-solving skills

Ability to work flexible and/or late hours required

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

Bachelor's degree in financial field

Two years' experience working with bankruptcy in a law firm or bank

A minimum of three years' experience in consumer debt collection environment

More than two years in lending industry
