Hours: Fulltime

Wage: $24.62/hr with shift differential and full county benefits

Duties:

Develops goals, standards, policies, and objectives for the detention facility to insure the constitutional rights and safety of all inmates and staff Advise Sheriff on annual budget recommendations and monitors expenditures of funds Advise Sheriff on the planning and implementations of future development considerations of the facility operations Draft standard operating procedures and initiates post orders Supervisors' preparation and revision of detention standard operating procedures manual Prepares narrative and statistical reports and daily reports Issues directives for the improvement or upgrading of jail operations Coordinates with Offices in transporting positions Makes decisions on disciplinary matters involving inmates according to Inmate Rules and Regulations Handbook Interviews witness and coordinates inmate disciplinary hearings Write disciplinary actions reports Resolves complaints from inmates Hears and acts on appeals of disciplinary actions involving inmates according to Inmate Rules and Regulations Handbook Meets with Sheriff, County Attorney, County Commissioners, and other Officials Formulates fire emergency and evacuation plan and related training Prepares correspondence Attends meetings Overseen the mental and health care of all inmates" o Assures proper meals and diet o Assures the availability of proper medical and mental health care o Assures the availability of prescription drugs Oversees the rights of inmates with the following services: o Religion o Access to courts and legal counsel o Recreation o Visitation o Mail o Proper hygiene o Library o Special counseling and meetings

Qaulifications: Any combination of education which is equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of GED certificate Experience managing employees, attention to detail, adhering to policies and procedures. Experience in Detention or Law Enforcement preferred. Must have or obtain within one year of employment Detention Officer Basic Certification from Montana Law Enforcement Academy or out of state equivalent. Valid Montana State Divers License
