Position Overview

FLACS is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support school operations and leadership. This role reports directly to the Principal and plays a key part in ensuring the school runs smoothly-especially in the afternoon and early evening hours to support our afterschool program.

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

A ssist with s chool's front office and support daily operations

Handle FAMIS-related purchases and maintain accurate purchasing records

Serve as a liaison between the Principal and internal departments (e.g. finance, kitchen, afterschool)

Upload packing slips and documentation into the school purchasing system

Support after school program logistics and serve as a point of contact for families and staff

Support kitchen-related needs and coordination (bilingual preferred)

Perform other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned

Assist with student registration as needed

Provide day-to-day support for the Principal and take on special projects as needed

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

Prior experience as an administrative assistant or in school operations

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and digital record-keeping

Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred

Must pass fingerprinting and background check as required by the NYC Department of Education
