Accounts Payable Coordinator - Accounting

Full time or Part time Position

Position Purpose and Scope of Responsibility:

The Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for receiving, processing and coding of invoices and proactively resolving conflicts involving invoices. Assists in the control and development of the approved vendors for the hospital. This position also is responsible for and rotates between two locations. (Atmore Community Hospital and DW McMillian Hospital) This position is also responsible for assisting the Finance Director, CFO and Accountant in all aspects of the Accounting department.

This position works under the general direction of the Finance Director, Accounting Department and CFO. The position Monday thru Friday but may be occasionally subject to hours over 40 per week.

Principal Accountabilities:

Job Accountability #1 Reviews invoices with appropriate Department Heads or other individuals to verify proper invoicing prior to payment.

Job Accountability #2 Properly codes all invoices for payment through direction of Accountant, Controller and CFO.

Job Accountability #3 Assists in the control and development of the approved vendors for the hospital. Looks for ways to reduce cost.

Job Accountability #4 Reconciling statements with the proper invoices and updating vendors with payment status.

Job Accountability #5 Accurately matches all invoices with purchase orders.

Job Accountability # 6 Assists with the preparation and submittal of all outgoing checks.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Knowledge/Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Considerable knowledge of accounts payable.

Demonstrated leadership skills.
