Required Qualifications

Active state electrical license (Journeyman or Master Electrician depending on project requirements).

3-5+ years of industrial, commercial, or DoD electrical experience.

Competency with electrical systems in hazardous locations (fuel facilities, Class I Div 1/2).

Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and PandIDs.

Troubleshooting skills for motors, controls, PLCs, relays, sensors, and circuit failures.

Valid drivers license.

Employer conducts background checks for military base access.

Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in adverse weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Department of Defense fueling systems (Air Force, Army, Navy, USACE, DLA-Energy).

OEM experience with Veeder-Root, Franklin Fueling, Red Jacket, or similar systems.

Training or certifications in hazardous locations, intrinsically safe systems, or control wiring.

OSHA 30, Confined Space, HAZWOPER 40, Hot Work, or equivalent safety programs.

Experience integrating or troubleshooting fuel system components such as:

Tank gauging

Leak detection

PLC-based controls

Motor starters/VFDs

Hydrant fueling pit controls

Position Summary

The Licensed Electrician (Fuel Systems) supports Elite Environmental and Petroleum Services, Inc. on federal, commercial, and industrial fueling projects. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems integral to bulk fuel storage, hydrant fuel systems, pipelines, pumps, sensors, leak detection, and associated control equipment. The electrician ensures all electrical work meets federal, state, and military standards while supporting safe and compliant fuel system operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Electrical Fuel System Maintenance and Repairs

Install, maintain, and repair electrical components within fueling infrastructure, including pump motors, control panels, PLC systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), flow meters, tank gauging systems, level sensors, leak detection systems, and alarms.

Troubleshoot electrical failures using meters, diagnostic equipment, and schematics to identify and correct issues safely and efficiently.

Perform wiring, conduit installation, grounding/bonding, terminations, and panel work in hazardous locations classified under NEC Article 500 (Class I, Division I and II).

Inspect electrical systems within fuel facilities to ensure operational reliability and compliance with DoD UFCs, NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 30, and applicable codes.

Fuel System Support

Assist with the commissioning, testing, and start-up of new fueling facilities and equipment.

Perform electrical components of pump and motor replacements, panel upgrades, and system retrofits.

Integrate electrical systems with mechanical equipment such as pressure control valves, automated fueling components, hydrant pit systems, and transfer pumps.

Support troubleshooting alongside mechanical fuel technicians to resolve cross-discipline issues (mechanical + electrical).

Compliance, Documentation and Safety

Maintain accurate documentation for inspections, testing, repairs, part usage, and change-outs per Elites project standards and federal contract requirements.

Ensure all work complies with OSHA, EM 385-1-1, NEC, and environmental regulations governing fueling operations.

Execute Lockout/Tagout, hot work procedures, confined space protocols, and hazardous area safety practices at all times.

Participate in job hazard analyses (JHAs) and follow Elites safety and quality control procedures without exception.
