Electric Power Systems, Inc is a unique company offering a wide range of experience and education in the area of power system operations, design, consultation and studies, petroleum industry controls, and general engineered systems. We provide extensive services from planning studies, design and construction to periodic testing and maintenance. We are currently seeking a skilled Substation Technician to join our Anchorage Substation Tech team.

Requirements:

This candidate will be required to demonstrate knowledge in the commissioning, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of substation and generation apparatus. An engineering degree is preferred, but a specific substation technician apprenticeship or applicable military training will be considered. A thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is a must with NETA or NICET Power Testing certificates a plus. As the Substation Technician Manager, it is the expectation to find work/respond to quote requests in conjunction with supporting the company projects. A familiarity in project management/direct client interaction on small projects and estimating is a requirement. The candidate must be able to multitask between office/administrative tasks and completing field testing without oversight. To be considered for this position, the candidate's resume must demonstrate technical as well as administrative experience. Though it is helpful, EPS isn't looking for an individual with an exclusive background in the construction of substations and power plants and is more looking for those who have been responsible for the testing and startup of them. It is highly recommended that a Cover Letter accompany the submission of the resume.

A valid driver's license with an insurable driving record is required. Attention to detail is a must in this position. We are seeking a team player, self-starter and a well-organized person who is willing to work in a fast-paced environment. Extensive travel both in the state of Alaska as well as Pacific Northwest, Hawaii and South Pacific will be required for this position.
