YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform soil, concrete, grout, masonry, and asphalt tests

Prepare detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and observations

Communicate with clients, contractors, and engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues

Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to verify adherence to design specifications and quality standards

Document and report any deviations, defects, or issues discovered during inspections

Collaborate with senior inspectors and project managers to confirm that construction activities meet safety regulations and project requirements

Assist with the review and interpretation of construction plans, special provisions, and technical documents

Maintain clear and accurate inspection records and reports for compliance and reporting purposes

Learn and apply industry-specific software and tools for inspection and documentation

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

2-5 years of experience

A high school diploma or a high school equivalence certification

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to lift technician equipment weighing up to 50 lbs

Ability to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 12 hours a day on occasion

The ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and twist; use hands to grasp; use arms to reach; raise hands above the head; sit; climb; and balance

Strong attention to detail

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I

Soils and Aggregate Compaction Technician (MARTCP or VDOT)
