Description

The Sitework Laborer supports daily field operations for earthwork, utilities, grading, and general site development. This role works directly under the Foreman to keep production moving, maintain a clean and safe jobsite, and assist equipment

operators and pipe crews.

General Sitework Tasks

Perform hand excavation, trenching, backfilling, and grading

Install and prepare materials such as stone, pipe, structures, and geotextiles

Assist with layout, staking, and grade checking

Compact soil using hand tampers and plate compactors

Maintain clean, organized work areas and haul off debris

Utility and Pipe Crew Support

Set and align pipe, fittings, and structures under supervision

Prepare bedding, backfill, and compaction around utilities

Handle lasers, levels, and trench tools as directed

Assist with trench safety setup and compliance

Equipment Support

Spot equipment operators and maintain safe working distances

Fuel, grease, and clean small tools and equipment

Load and unload materials, tools, and jobsite supplies

Safety and Compliance

Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements

Wear required PPE and participate in daily safety meetings

Identify and report hazards, near misses, or unsafe conditions

Teamwork and Communication

Take direction from Foreman and Operators

Work efficiently as part of a productiondriven crew

Communicate needs, issues, and progress clearly

Qualifications

Experience in construction or sitework preferred but not required

Ability to use hand tools, shovels, rakes, compactors, and saws

Willingness to learn grades, utilities, and equipment operation

Reliable transportation and strong work ethic

Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and uneven terrain

Physical Requirements

Lift 50-75 lbs regularly

Walk, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods

Work in trenches, around heavy equipment, and in varying weather
