Construction Laborer

A dedicated and hardworking Construction Laborer is needed to join the team. As a vital part of the construction crew, the laborer will perform various physical tasks to support the construction process, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

Site Preparation:Clear and prepare construction sites by removing debris, hazards, and obstructions. Assist with setting up safety barriers, signage, and temporary structures like scaffolding.

Material Handling:Load, unload, and transport construction materials, equipment, and tools to designated areas on the job site.

Physical Labor:Perform demanding physical tasks including assisting with tasks requiring heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds).

Tool and Equipment Operation:Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools, and potentially basic construction equipment (e.g., forklift, scissors lift, boom lifts) under supervision.

Support to Skilled Trades:Assist skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, masons, electricians, and plumbers with their tasks as needed.

Site Maintenance:Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including disposing of waste, removing debris, and conducting basic maintenance on tools and equipment.

Safety Compliance:Adhere to all company safety protocols and OSHA regulations, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others.

Collaboration:Work effectively as part of a team, following instructions from supervisors and communicating effectively with colleagues.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Basic knowledge of and ability to safely use hand and power tools.

Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to punctuality.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.

Work Environment

This position involves working in various outdoor and indoor settings, potentially requiring work at heights or in confined spaces depending on project requirements. Exposure to noise, fumes, and other hazards typical of construction sites is expected, requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
